EAST MAITLAND HERITAGE WALK 

East Maitland, once known as the “Government town,” was proclaimed in 1833 and is rich in colonial history. Its Heritage Walk features 28 significant sites, including Maitland Gaol, the East Maitland Court House, Caroline Chisholm’s cottage (c.1840), and St Peter’s Church (1886), as well as Glebe Cemetery and other locations linked to convict history and notable figures like Caroline Chisholm and Les Darcy.

MORPETH VILLAGE

A short drive from Maitland, Morpeth is a charming historic village filled with boutique shops, cafés, and artisan stores. Guests can stroll along heritage streets, enjoy riverside views, and sample local treats (the famous Morpeth sourdough is a highlight). It’s perfect for a relaxed half-day outing.
